Brianna Dubois’s eleventh birthday is in seven days, and her typical summer is about to change when she receives a vintage suitcase in the mail from Mamie, her French grandmother. Brianna discovers she will be traveling to Paris by herself to visit Mamie for a week, and when she lands in Paris she must face one of her biggest fears.
Within twenty-four hours of Brianna’s arrival Mamie mysteriously disappears. Brianna and her new friends, Léa and Amin, solve clues Mamie has left in peacock-embossed notes that Mamie hopes will lead Brianna to where Mamie believes she will be taken.
In the course of her adventure, Brianna learns about her French family and French culture and history as she and her friends navigate Paris, urgently searching for Mamie before it’s too late to save Mamie’s life and the Dubois family fortune.
