cindy anderson

Cindy Anderson loves everything French and loves writing about it, too. Cindy began her French studies in ninth grade for two reasons - she liked the way the language sounded, and she liked the sophisticated culture that was associated with France.

She became interested in French fashion, art, history, and literature which led her to be a French major in college. She studied at the Université de Dijon in Dijon, France, and later went on to get her Master of Arts in French language and literature. Cindy became an award-winning teacher and has experience teaching students from first grade through college.

Cindy taught high school French for many successful years. Her passion for teaching included taking students to France over spring vacations and enriching their education by going to art museums, French restaurants, and plays. She also exposed her students to French cuisine and songs during French Club activities.

Now, Cindy shares her love of French with young people by writing middle grade adventures. Her novels take place in French speaking countries and are interwoven with interesting vignettes of French culture and history. It is her hope that you will love la Francophonie as well. (La Francophonie = the French speaking world).

When she’s not writing, Cindy enjoys reading, traveling, cross-stitching, working outside, and spending time with her family. Cindy lives in Southern California with her husband and her Portuguese Water Dog named Remi.
